Emma & James | Love at Cowbell Creek

Love at Cowbell Creek Wedding Venue

Emma and James, were married on a glorious May Sunday afternoon at the Cowbell Creek wedding venue. Located in Austinville , just 30 minutes easy drive from the heart of the Gold Coast.

Their day started with close friends and family getting ready at the impressive Q1. Unobstructed views of the ocean and a bright Autumn day created fantastic lit rooms to get ready in.

It was a quick limo ride for Emma to meet James waiting under the ceremony pergola. I would be lying if I said the sight of Emma in her Grace Loves Lace gown didn’t bring a wave of emotion over James. She walked down the isle after her attendants with a smile that could brighten any room.

Working again with celebrant Clarah Luxford the I knew the guests would enjoy a seamless, touching ceremony. There were many laughs and heartfelt moments which lead to the final kiss to tie the knot.

The thoughtful staff at Cowbell Creek taxied us around the property at the foot of Mt Nimmel. There were so many photography opportunities on the property. I only wish there was more time to utilise some hidden gems.

Emma & James, were so relaxed and an absolute delight to photograph. Chasing the last light of the day we found some cows to pat, as you do! Then it was off to the Cowbell Creek wedding barn for the reception.

DJ Brad entertained the guests with great music and some games to get the party stared. The night rolled on with some short speeches and all the formalities followed.

A truly enjoyable day for all. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did taking them. #MrandMrsC2k18

How they met in their own words

We first met believe it or not, on the ever popular tinder. It was love at first swipe. Emma first noticed not James but his dog Diesel. After days of talking back and forth Emma was so insistent on going on a date with James that she agreed to go to a car meet a couple of days before our original date was planned. James saw Emma and instantly thought he had hit the jackpot she was so beautiful. Emma first saw James and knew she was going out with a tall guy but she didn’t expect a giant. The first date went off without a hitch, James drove ever so careful through the mountains chasing fellow drivers down the hill whilst Emma sat in fear. We both agreed that from that day on we knew we would be together forever.

Brisbane Wedding Photographer | Wedding Rings

Who doesn’t love the idea of a romantic proposal or the timeless moment that a couple exchange rings.

A ring is a circle which is a sign of infinity and symbolises endless love between a couple.

It’s believed to have started as a tradition over 3000 years ago in Egypt. They would present their ladies with bands made of hemp or reeds. Of course this material was not very robust and metals where soon crafted into bands.

The tradition of which finger to wear the ring on came from an ancient belief that fourth finger (on the left hand) had a vein running straight to the heart. The Romans called this ‘vena amoris’ or the vein of love.

Roslyn & Ed | On the Lota Espalande

I want to share with you this magnificent Brisbane Bayside wedding. A very popular spot for weddings and family photography.
Ed, originally from Brisbane was working in Victoria where he met Roslyn through mutual friends.
It’s not often that your mutual friends are married to each other, so lets be honest, the introduction to each other was inevitable.
About one year later, after the romance had blossomed, Ed had to move back to his family in Brisbane.
Nobody likes a long distance relationship , however their love was resilient and Roslyn moved to Brisbane a year later to study and rent together.
Their relationship grew stronger and stronger, traveling together and supporting each other in new career paths and life goals.
The ceremony was held near the Lota Esplanade and their reception was held and the popular Bluebottle Bar in Manly.

Shane & Sandy | A wedding with sand in your toes & love in your heart

Shane & Sandy’s Story as written by Sandy

“Shane & I met 10 years ago at the ladies gym that we now both own, he was a single dad with 4 daughters & I was a single mum with a son.

Shane was the owner & I was his Manager, we had a long distance relationship for 3 ½ hours before Shane moved to Brisbane from Hervey Bay.

Who would have thought you could find your life long partner at a ladies gym.

Our love was destined to be, we are best friends, lovers & sole mates,

this only comes along once in a lifetime.”

Sandy & Shane were married at Kingscliff in Northern New South Wales. Just a little over ninety minutes from Brisbane. This idyllic beach wedding was a nod to Shane’s love of the beach and the Surf Life Saving community he has been apart of for so many years.  They hired local Kingscliff accomodation which made a relaxing 5 minute stroll to the beach ceremony.

Harry & Michaela | To infinity and beyond

“Happily Ever After”as told by Michaela

“Harry and I actually met in June 2012, 2 years before we started dating.

We were both out with friends at The Victory Hotel. My group of friends decided to go home but I wasn’t ready to, so I tagged along with a bunch of girls I just met. I started talking to Harry while one of the girls talked to his mate and we just hit it off and chatted for hours. We have some funny stories about the night so it’s a great memory for us. He dropped me home after the Vic and we went on our first date a week later; dinner and a movie. It was a great night but then Harry disappeared off the face of the earth, only to reappear at the most random times over the next 2 years. He used to randomly text me, add me on Facebook or Facebook message me. I barely spoke to him cause I thought he was so “flakey” (as all my friends know I described him as 😂). He used to start a conversation but then disappear a week later. He’d add me and then I’d delete him because he’d never talk to me. Almost 2 years later, within the same month (June 2014) he messaged me again, asking to go out on a date. Something in my gut told me to just go for it and so I decided to give him a second chance. I hadn’t seen him in 2 years so I kind of thought ‘why not’. We went to Pancake Manor for dinner and went to see ‘How to train your dragon 2’

Looking back on it we think it’s hilarious because he asked me that night to be his girlfriend (and I pay him out about it all the time Because I said no!). I told him he needed to prove he was serious and not going to be so flakey like he was for 2 years. We “dated” for a month then I asked him out “officially” and he actually turned me down this time. He said “the guy has to ask the girl out” and so he left me hanging for a couple of days before officially asking me – another thing we joke about when we reminisce.

We were together for about 8 months before he moved in and we’ve never looked back. February 29th 2016 (leap day) I asked Harry to marry me, but obviously “the guy has to ask” (he said) so he said no. He popped the question at sunset on Kuta beach in Bali on November 14th 2016.

We always have a laugh thinking about our “love story” because it didn’t happen in the usual way you hear but we have such a fun story to tell about everything working out and how thankful we are that our paths crossed again, because the first time we met we weren’t ready for each other. In the beginning I felt it was almost too good to be true because we have so much in common – even the silly things you don’t assume boys like. He loves Disney and Pixar movies and being a compete dork like me, plus he is a country music fan at heart- just like me!

It was also hard to believe that we found each other because he is such an incredibly sweet, affectionate and loving man.

I’ve always said from the second time round that he’s my Prince Charming and we are meant to be.

Saturday really was our “happily every after” and it felt so magical to have the fairytale we both dreamt of. “

Jessica and Joseph’s St.Stephen’s Wedding | Brisbane

Jess & Joe met at the Queens Arms Hotel, on James Street in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. It’s quite an iconic pub for the area and frequented by many of James Streets locals. Joe remembers the moment he met Jessica and asked her to marry him in the exact place where she was standing eight years earlier. It was a very iconic Brisbane wedding with Jessica getting ready in the Brisbane Marriott on Queen Street. The ceremony was held in the majestic St.Stephen’s Cathedral and then moving to the High Church on Brunswick Street. The High Church has a fantastic relaxed atmosphere with bespoke decorations for couples. The room was filled with laughter throughout the speeches, many contributors coming from Joe’s UK birthplace.

Enjoy some of the music from the Wedding whilst you view this sneak peak.

Trent and Tiffany Bayside Bliss

Their Brisbane Wedding Story

For years Trent had been searching for his Dory and Tiff for her Nemo, Then one day Tiff and Trent fell into the same pond.

There were plenty of fish there to choose but they chose each other. They rode the wave of love from there and got caught in a rip of romance.

From our first date to the third in just three days we never looked back. Tiff knew she was caught hook line and sinker on our third date when she was gazing into Trent’s eyes. After many years of dating and living between our parent’s houses we thought we would take our relationship a step further and buy our first house.

From here we brought our first fur-baby named Bella. After four long but amazing years Trent decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Tiff.  He proposed at sunset overlooking the beach while on holidays in Hawaii, and believe it or not Tiff said YES! After 19 months of hard planning we are finally getting married to the love of our lives.
